Work from Home - Business Manager / Senior Administrator

  • Fully remote role - you must be based near Cambridge to access office from time to time
  • Salary up to £45k depending on experience
  • Full Time - 37.50 hours per week
  • Start date anticipated before the end of the year

As the Business Manager you will be responsible for designing of business strategies and managing all day-to-day business financial and administrative operations to guarantee company efficiency. Superb interpersonal and leadership skills are vital for this role, as good teamwork is important for the business success. Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to identify opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Management of financial administration including preparing an annual company financial return
  • Managing expenditure and performing periodic budget analysis including analysis of variance
  • Reporting and liaising with external accountants for administrative tasks such as payroll, pensions, VAT returns, annual returns, R&D tax credit applications
  • Maintaining compliance aspects such as companies house, filing annual return and any significant changes,
  • Managing the companies bank relationship
  • Review and approve all operational invoices, submit for payment, and track/chase all payments
  • Management of contracts of partners, vendors and suppliers including management and negotiation of terms on accounts, including where necessary coordination with company counsel and third parties for execution of contracts, agreements, and licenses
  • Tracking of vendor and supplier pricing, rebates, and service levels
  • Managing contracts with company personnel including the management of consultant invoices including tracking and approval
  • Developing, evaluating, and implementing policies (including employee handbooks and Health and Safety) and procedures to actively improve systems and processes
  • Ensuring business operations activities follow legal guidelines and policies.
  • Manage operational filing systems in SharePoint

About You:

  • Education: Bachelors' degree in a science, accountancy or equivalent for this role
  • Minimum 3+ years in a similar role for a similar company
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Strong leadership and management experience
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team
  • Excellent time management and prioritising skills
  • Must be able to multi-task and work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent PC skills including MS Office, SharePoint and bespoke systems
  • Some HR experience would be an advantage
