Our client, an international publishing firm seeks to hire a Head of Product Applications.

Their application portfolio includes all customer facing online digital products and applications which include a range of digital, content and data-centric platforms, web and eCommerce applications, as well as a range of mobile applications and digital components of blended (print/digital) service offerings

The Head of Product Applications is responsible for the technology delivery of the client's entire digital product portfolio, from new products and capabilities to enhancing existing products and services. This role is accountable for budgetary control of a multimillion-pound portfolio, leading teams who translate high level solution architecture into detailed technical designs and then deliver solutions, from software development to third line application support. Product Engineering teams use modern development practices and tools such as agile software development and DevOps practices. The role includes managing both internal delivery teams and overseeing a range of partnerships with commercial suppliers that provide application development, SaaS and PaaS services around the globe.

This role has responsibility for senior stakeholder management including Divisional Product Directors and Senior Leadership teams, CTO and the Technology & Operations Senior Leadership Team. This includes managing and reporting against delivery KPIs for value streams and product project reporting for Engineering Technology. The Head of Product Applications will oversee teams working closely with a wide range of stakeholders to specify, plan, estimate, develop and implement market leading digital products and services that deliver on business strategy. These products deliver on both functional and non-functional quality standards to deliver a consistent customer experience in line with their brand and market standing.

We are looking for applicants who have experience of:
*Leading cross-functional teams in a global environment with multiple executive stakeholders.
*Strategy planning, enterprise portfolio development and management.
*Full Software Development Lifecycle experience and understanding of modern application technology stacks, JavaScript, React, NodeJS, AWS etc.
*A proven ability to deliver projects/ programmes and an understanding of the need to work with business change management functions to embed change in an effective manner
*Strong third party supplier management skills, managing performance and tracking delivery
*Strong UX experience / sensitivity
You will need to demonstrate the following:
*Skilled communicator and excellent stakeholder management, ability to work and influence at C-suite level.
*Works strategically to realise organisational goals and develops compelling visions for the future.
*Works with a high degree of integrity. Has a track record of success, keeping to commitments and credibility; a trusted advisor.
*Ability to work across multiple initiatives with strong delegation and empowerment skills.
*High emotional quotient and self-knowledge; seeks feedback and gains insights from mistakes; views failures and challenges as learning opportunities
*Solutions-focused, maintains clear sight of longer-term outcomes to drive shorter-term outputs.
