JOB PURPOSE AND ROLE:
To assist the Cook Supervisor in all aspects of kitchen work including the preparation and serving of food and maintaining a high level of cleanliness within the kitchen.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To wash up all necessary equipment, to clean gullies, ovens, floors, boilers, hot cupboards, store rooms, toilet area etc;
To be responsible for keeping the servery and/or dining room clean and tidy - and to assist in the transportation of meals from the delivery vans or kitchens as required;
To assist in the preparation of food and beverages.
To place, erect, dismantle and store dinning furniture and to prepare dining rooms including laying of tables;
To serve the meals and wait on tables as required;
To clean tables, sweep the dining room and leave it in a tidy condition after meals;
To attend training courses as appropriate to meet the demands of the business and/or legislation which may occur in school holiday time or after work (if appropriate);
To assist in the preparation and/or serving of food for Inset Days, or when the schools are used for conferences (For employees based in education establishments);
Any other duties commensurate with the grading of the post, subject to any reasonable adjustments under the Disability Discrimination Act.
