Interim - Asbestos Manager
To be the Group's responsible person for the overall leadership, management and co-ordination of Asbestos Management. This role is to ensure the group remains fully complaint with all appropriate Asbestos legislation.
This includes all Asbestos management strategy, surveying, data management, remedial and removal works both as planned and reactive programmes.
Core duties & accountabilities
*Ensure that the organisations Landlords Compliance statutory obligations and regulatory undertakings are comprehensively delivered with regards to Asbestos Management.
*Be the specified person organisation wide for Asbestos in collaboration with the Asset Management, Repairs and Maintenance, Housing Operations, Health and Safety and External Contractors.
*Lead on all aspects of asbestos management ensuring we have detailed and comprehensive Asbestos Management Plans, an up to date Asbestos Register
*Ensure comprehensive processes and procedures are in place in relation to Asbestos Management that are current and reflect all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
*Translate the organisations strategy, policy and procedures into objectives, key performance measures, management information, ensure there is a clear mechanism in place for reporting to Board, Risk and Audit and Senior Management.
*Ensure that all data and administration in relation to Asbestos Management is accurate, correctly inputted and validated against our core housing system.
*Deliver detailed technical, specialist advice to all colleagues. This will include interpreting surveyor's reports, analysing lab results and creating action plans to mitigate risk.
*Devise a planned approach to domestic asbestos surveys to ensure the group holds accurate Asbestos Information for all its Domestic stock.
*Act as a principle point of contact for Contractors and Consultant Service Providers in respect of relevant Asbestos instructed work.
*Assist as required the Head of Delivery with financial planning, budget setting and budget optimisation for relevant Asbestos requirements.
*Work collaboratively across the Group in devising Risk assessments, Method Statements and Safe systems of work for any non-licenced works which the group may wish to undertake using internal resource.
*An HNC level qualification or demonstrable knowledge and experience in the building services field. A relevant Health and Safety qualification e.g., NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health (or equivalent) or working towards same.
*One or more of the following:
oBOHS P402 certificate
oBOHS P405 certificate
*Excellent and thorough knowledge of The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012
*Excellent knowledge of CDM (Construction Design Management) Regulations and other related housing regulations/ statutory obligations and how they apply within the context of social housing health and safety compliance.
*Detailed knowledge and awareness of building regulations in all areas.
*Knowledge of complex, sheltered and supported housing including both Domestic and Non-Domestic
*A recognised professional qualification in a property related discipline MRICS, CIOB, MICE or equal or considerable, relevant and demonstrable experience
*Permanent equivalent salary - £45,000
*Interim - £200-£300 per day
