IT Infrastructure Specialist

Cloud / Data Centre / Infrastructure / IT Support / Azure / Office 365 / Staffordshire

My market leading and award-winning client, known for being a great place to work is looking for a driven IT Infrastructure Specialist to join their growing IT Team.

The IT Infrastructure Specialist will ensure the consistent availability and management of enterprise architecture which hosts applications, systems, services and infrastructure.

You will be working remotely for the foreseeable future but would be based out of their Midlands head office in Lichfield, Staffordshire in the longer term.

This role would be on a fixed term contract basis initially until December.

Key Responsibilities:
*Management of business as usual operational processes including; datacentre operations, backup management, service alerting and monitoring, performance management of live services, new service commissions and decommissions, hardware repairs and replacements and disaster/recovery tests
*Responsible for the management, change and support of the live 'business as usual' architecture
*Ensure new systems have correct security applied prior to moving into production environment
*Appropriately record and maintain network switch ports
*Ensure data backups are maintained, tested and that issues are resolved on the day that they arise and that consistent backup copies exist off-site
*Deliver a Service availability SLA in conjunction with the service stakeholders
*Involvement in Disaster Recovery processes and procedures
*Ensure High Availability and Disaster Recovery capabilities are tested in line with service stakeholder expectations
*Delivery of technical architecture lifecycle management
*Provide scheduled tests of service High Availability and Disaster Recovery
*Management of knowledge documentation, skills training and service capabilities for the Cloud & Data Centre Team
*Ensure IT server investment is maximised through efficient utilisation of datacentre technology
*Ensuring access to the on-premise and collocated datacentres is controlled in line with procedure

Key Skills and Experience required:
*Experience in a similar role managing Cloud computing technologies in virtualised environments
*Good understanding of VMware and core Microsoft Stack, including Azure and Exchange / Office 365
*Knowledge of data backup of both physical and virtual systems
*Experience of disaster recovery, IT configuration management, deployment & orchestration
*Previous experience supplier management
*Good problem-solving skills and ability to take responsibility for finding solutions
*You will ideally possess on of the following qualifications; CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) or ITIL Foundation
