3rd Line Support Engineer
The successful applicant will work on a team of 4 IT Support Engineers to help provide first, second and third-line technical support activities to the business, whilst being heavily involved in the delivery of IT infrastructure projects.
The company is going through a number of Business and IT transformation and development projects, and this is a great opportunity to help further shape the company's IT Support services and overall infrastructure.
IT SUPPORT ENGINEER - DUTIES
The role will include the following duties and responsibilities:
*Providing support to non-technical staff members
*Resolving support issues and service requests in the incident tracking system
*Responding to alerts including Testing, Debugging and Troubleshooting and recording information on the nature of issues encountered
*Providing technical insight and support to a wide range of infrastructure projects
*Documenting and following test plans
*Creating and maintaining server builds, configuration, and provisioning
*The role will be part of an on-call rota with work split evenly and fairly between the IT support team.
IT SUPPORT ENGINEER - SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
We are looking for someone with a background in up to third line IT Support and at least 3 years' overall commercial experience as a support or infrastructure engineer, and an understanding of most of the following:
*Ability to work under pressure and use initiative
*Be methodical and follow documented procedures
*Interpersonal and communication skills
*Understanding of infrastructure security principals
*Understanding of ITIL concepts
*Understanding of some of the following technologies:
Hyper-V / VMware
AD, Group Policies, DHCP, DNS
Server and client hardware (HP)
Switch/Wifi Management (Cisco/Meraki)
Printers and Scanners
Back-end (Veeam, antivirus)
It is not essential you know all of the above technologies to apply for the role; 2-3 years experience in support/infrastructure roles and confidence in your ability to communicate with people is most important.
