Technical Architect required to work with a Government department. This is a 6-12 month contract, inside IR35, paying up to £725 Per day. This is a remote contract until further notice (offices based in London)

You will hold valid/current SC CLEARANCE (or be willing to undergo the process to obtain it)

Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Technical Architect to work on delivering a software-based network encryption service, based on a software defined wide area network (SD-WAN) alongside a Wide Area Network-Network to Network Interface (LE-NNI) that will replace the existing Gateway, Off-Shore Gateway and Cloud Gateway.

The Programme requires you as a Technical Architect to support the technical delivery of the programme. You will have an opportunity to work on fast paced and stimulating projects using modern interfaces and technology to strengthen IT capabilities within the Programme and Portfolio.

Deliverables:
*Define the architecture for the secure design, build and operation of the next generation services.
*Lead on the technical implementation of the new services.
*Work with the Programme and Enterprise Services to develop & maintain the technology strategy and architecture of services.
*Work closely with users to develop the network principles, strategy, patterns, products and services.
*Provide technical assurance of the services working with the transition team and third-party organisations both internal and external to the programme.
*Provide assistance and support on architectural/technical issues to team members as required to achieve overall benefits for the delivery of services to the business. Share architectural and technical knowledge and experiences.
*Gain and maintain a working knowledge of the product portfolios, products and services and where necessary help to develop new products, strategies and solutions.
*Document and/or liaise in the production and maintenance of architecture roadmaps, specifications, plans as required.
*Liaise with programme technical and security leads to position the best fit solution to meet and were possible enhance the overall strategy and reduce risk.
*Gain and maintain a high-level knowledge of the architecture and technology used to deliver the next generation of Services
*Provide 'soft' consultancy skills and a proactive approach to gain the absolute trust of the business
*Participate in providing mentoring support and guidance to team members to help grow skills and capabilities

Skills and knowledge:
*Excellent knowledge of network technologies, architecture modelling, resilience/failover architecture, systems integration and network services design
*SD-WAN Technology (Cisco Viptela, VMWare Velocloud or Silverpeak)
*Development of network principles, strategy, patterns, products and services.
*Knowledge of Infrastructure services including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Storage, remote access solution.

Specific qualifications or experience required:
*Knowledge of PSN network architecture
*Knowledge of Virtualisation including VMWare and MS Hyper-v
