National Theatre Scotland is Scotland's national theatre: A theatre without walls; a theatre for everyone; a creative catalyst of the theatre sector in Scotland, across Scotland and beyond. We deliver some of the most innovative and creative theatre, known globally for its boldness, and with ambitious plans for the future.

In this newly created post, the Head of HR will ensure a professional HR service is delivered that meets the needs of National Theatre of Scotland. It will involve developing models and systems around the full range of HR initiatives and interventions whilst building capacity and capability within the company.

You will use your HR experience and knowledge to lead in areas such as performance, policy, development and learning, people and resource planning and of course ED&I. You will act as a trusted adviser to the company, providing pragmatic advice, support and guidance on people issues.

You will be skilled at working closely with managers to support and develop best practice and have a proven track record of building credibility. Whether it is systems, processes or approaches, you will have high standards and seek to make National Theatre a leader in this space. You may be CIPD qualified or working towards this; what is more important is your ability to tackle HR issues in such a way that value-add is experienced by the company.

It goes without saying that wanting to learn more or even having a passion for what we do and who were are would be helpful, but more important than your sector experience is your proven track record of learning quickly, delivering solutions and challenging the status quo where required.
