Area Manager (RNLD) for Learning Disability Nursing Services
Salary- £45,000 - £55,000
FTE- 37.5 hours per week, temporary role to cover for 12-month maternity leave
Base- TBC at interview but will include some homeworking, services cover Leeds, Wetherby, Calderdale & Kirklees

A registered charity and health and social care provider with a reputation for delivering high quality services, currently providing higher than average CQC ratings is looking for an Area Manger to join their team.

This client has ten services across Kirklees, Calderdale, Leeds and Wetherby provide a wide range of Nursing and residential services to People with Learning Disabilities and complex health needs. The services are highly regarded locally and there are excellent commissioning and professional relationships in place.

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Nurse Qualified Area Manager. This is a senior role within the organisation with responsibility for supporting the development of nursing strategies and leadership of all nursing services within the portfolio.

The successful candidate will oversee a team of experienced First Line Registered Nurse Managers ensuring they are developed, supported, and managed in an appropriate and professional manner. You will provide a high profile, visible clinical leadership and supervision to the nursing team and ensure evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement across your services and that services continue to work in partnership with the local MDT teams in which they operate.

This post will also be responsible for the financial and business performance ensuring the delivery of high quality and cost-effective services. The successful candidate must be an experienced RLND with an active pin, as well as experience in management in support/care work.


Minimum of 3 years management experience in health or social care managing nursing staff
Excellent people management and leadership skills
Excellent team working skills
Experience of working within CQC and regulated framework
High level of knowledge and application of care quality standards, safeguarding and service management
Experience of working with vulnerable adults including Autism, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health conditions and Challenging Behaviour
Strong business and financial acumen to oversee action and development plans, financial budgets and accounts
Excellent judgement and decision-making skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to write and present clear, concise documents
Ability to organise workload, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Ability to develop productive collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
