Adecco Recruitment in Ashford are working with a well known Transport company based in Appledore, Kent (15 Minutes from the ashford town centre) - They are currently recruiting for a Transport Office Clerk to join their team on a Full time Permanent Basis!

In UK transport company terms, we are a relatively small operator, with 12 HGVs, specialist trailers and drivers employed by us, along with 2 escort vehicles and drivers, but large in terms of the niche market we command and an average turnover of 2.5m. A small family business run with most importantly a culture that reflects this. Our current admin staff and drivers are an incredibly loyal bunch, we must be doing something right, and our staff turnover is 0.5 - 1%"

Position Details:

Job Title: Transport Administrator

Hours: Full Time Office Hours

Days: Monday to Friday

Salary: £25,000 - £26,000

Location: Appledore, Kent

Parking: Available



  • Deal with UK Routes / Permit applications
  • Deal with Overseas Permit applications / re-applications of annual permits
  • Arrange escort vehicles with Police forces / overseas suppliers
  • Vehicle & Trailer Maintenance
  • Services & MOTs
  • Breakdowns / Callouts
  • Ordering & Logging Parts

General Duties

  • Office Administration
  • Telephone Answering


Understanding of Transport Industry & Legislation


Previous Experience within Logistics/Transport is desirable as you will be dealing with technical information E.G "HGV axle weights, wheel spacing etc" so you would need to be able to explained and gain the information required.

You would also be Dealing with breakdowns across the UK and EU and being asked technical questions regarding the HGV's, faults etc.
