Process and Test Equipment Engineer
A rare and exciting role to work for our client based on the outskirts of Ipswich. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a technical team in a growing company with a global footprint!
The role
Our client is looking for an experienced manufacturing and process engineer to help support processes and the equipment that result in high quality photonics products. The successful candidate must have a high level of technical knowledge and a HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline, experience within the semiconductor or electronics industry.
Main Responsibilities
- Support and develop the production processes and equipment
- Working with other departments to restore equipment and to qualify new processes and equipment
- Ensure there is day to day problem solving to make continuous improvements using LEAN, Six Sigma and other best practice tools
- Implement and maintain effective process controls (SPC) to ensure quality controls against Quality Control Plan and Out of Control Action Plan (QCP/OCAP)
- Create and maintain process flows, SOP's and PFMEA's, whilst providing training to other employees
- Develop and improve processes whilst maintaining the quality of the products
Skills/Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum of HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline
- Experience in manufacturing or assembly processes
- Test software experience in either C++, C#, .NET or Python
- Proficient with electro-mechanical equipment and knowledge of electronics
- Knowledge of SPC Lean manufacturing techniques
Desirable
- Experience with Wire Bonding and surface mount PCB assembly
- SMT, Pick & Place, flying probe or AOI machine experience
- CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc)

- Organisational skills to a high level
- Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and still provide quality work with attention to detail
