A Network Communications - V&V Engineer is required for a long term contract assignment based in Bristol
Candidates must have worked in the UK defence environment within the last 12 months
Overview of department:
The primary focus of the role is to support the development of the Verification and Validation preparations for the qualification activities for the SPEAR3 communications domain.
Responsibilities:
The primary focus of the role is to support the development of the Verification and Validation preparations for the qualification activities for the SPEAR3 communications domain.
Some of the key activities will include:
* The development and maturation of a domain test approach / strategy.
* The specification and procurement of test software and test tools required to deliver the strategy.
* The development of test specifications & procedures.
* The maintenance of the Comms Domain proving matrix.
* The maintenance of the Comms Domain compliance definition.
Skillset/experience required:
* Experience of Tactical Data Links / JTIDS / Link 16 is required.
* Sound understanding of System Engineering Process
* Experience in tools for Requirements Capture and Control (DOORS).
* Experience in engineering product delivery.
* Experience of technical problem solving.
* Excellent communication skills (timing and content aspects).
* Good project and risk management skills and knowledge.
* Excellent can do attitude and pro-active behaviours.
* Understanding of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) using SysML, desirable, preferably using Rhapsody.
