Finance Assistant

A fashion-forward shoe brand is looking to add a Finance Assistant to their fast-paced Accounts department permanently. The role will be reporting into the Finance Accountant & Group tax specialist and will be assisting with the day-to-day preparation and submission of accounting journals.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Reviewing supplier and customer invoices and entries for compliance, resolve any issues with stakeholders
Continuous monitoring of business meeting MTD requirements (invoice attachment report review)
VAT design test (to ensure VAT codes are correct for products categories in the system)
Preparation of payment requests
Sales register reconciliations
Assisting with the clearing of the VAT account
Assisting the group tax accountant with day-to-day reporting responsibilities of the group
Assisting with the preparation of journals and finance analysis
Providing ad hoc reports where necessary
Dealing with interim and yearend audit queries

Experience and requirements:
Graduate-level/ AAT
Interest in a Finance career
Strong Excel skills
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Strong Numeric, organisational and interpersonal skills
Ability to stay calm under pressure and meet strict deadlines
