*Updating SII W&L log, owning and remediating appropriate SII W&Ls
*Updating SII Model change log
*Completion of SII MEO (Finance and IT) duties, including annual attestation of appropriate governance and controls
*Ownership and management of appropriate iCare controls, including 6 monthly finance reporting certifications
*Ownership and management of EUC catalogue and control
*(Finance) ownership of enterprise architecture
*Ownership, completion, and reporting of appropriate AFO KPIs and market service reviews
*ACR confluence and SharePoint business ownership
*IT relationship
*Service ownership
*Managing requirements
*Managing as a critical supplier
*Optimisation
*Testing of IT deployments
*RPCT supplier relationship
*Quarterly reviews
*Procurement processes
*Team management of c 10 people
*Recruitment
*Training and development
*Leadership
*Standards definition (eg MSDF)
*Process and control documentation ownership
*Cost centre ownership
*Budgets, QRFs
The role holder also contributes to the GI Methodology:
*GI Methodology BaU
*Overseeing annual reviews
*Overseeing the refresh of justifications and expert analyses
*GI Methodology alternatives
*Identification of / overseeing the identification of areas of methodology operating imperfectly
*Identification of / overseeing the identification of alternative approaches
*Retaining knowledge of market techniques
The Actuarial Modelling lead is integral to the GI Model implementation:
*GI Models BaU
*Overseeing production of, and being accountable to key stakeholders for, monthly service reporting
*Overseeing annual documentation review
*Overseeing production of annual stability testing
*GI Models development
*Leading prioritisation of alternative stories
*Defining stories
*Story development & testing
*Overseeing story development & testing from development team
*Story approval and sign-off
*GI Models system release
*Overseeing testing and release planning
*Overseeing user training
*Overseeing UAT management
*Supporting stakeholders to approval of release
*Overseeing deployment processes
*GI Environment support
*Overseeing new workspace setup
*Overseeing management of storage areas
*Overseeing support of AMI testing
*GI Model support
*Investigate cause of unexpected outputs
*Deliver fixes / workarounds for bugs
Due to the nature of the role, the Actuarial Modelling Lead will inevitably play a pivotal role in strategic projects within Finance Operations.
The Actuarial Modelling team is embedded within Finance Data and Systems and works very closely with IT.

*Overseeing production of, and being accountable to key stakeholders for, monthly service reporting

*Overseeing defining stories

*Overseeing testing and release planning
*Overseeing user training

*Supporting stakeholders to approval of release
*Overseeing deployment processes
*GI Model support
*Investigate cause of unexpected outputs
*Deliver fixes / workarounds for bugs
*Provide and deliver / oversee the provision and delivery of best practice user training
Responsibilities include:
- Assess level of automation and design of automated controls improving process.
- Actively work with change programmes to reduce the EUC footprint through deliveries.
- Work with Global Finance Architecture to safeguard the financial system from evolving risks.
- Enhance the risk and controls framework.
- Support BAU change programmes and pipeline.
- May manage external contractors and vendors to ensure service standards are met.
- Measure and demonstrate that lessons are learned on issues and repeat incidents are not experienced.
- Address day to day, ad-hoc issues and problems experienced.
- Deal with issues and problems (relating to technical work, people, finance, implementation of change) that are not routine.
- Problem solving may require information gathering, analysis, consideration of options and drawing conclusions on a case-by-case basis.
- Budget management for BaU and strategic programmes.
- Ensure that issues and actions associated to controls / risks on a programme level are remediated in a timely manner.
- Report and escalate the status of the relevant risks, controls and standards as appropriate.
- Leading and inspiring the team.
- Networking and managing relationships.
- Teamwork.
- Coaching and mentoring.
- Succession planning.
