We have an exciting opportunity for a Employer Engagement Officer for a leading college based on the Borders of East London/Essex. This role is full time, Monday to Friday.

You will need to have the following:

  • An appropriate academic or professional qualification at degree level
  • Clean driving licence with own transport
  • Sound knowledge, understanding and experience of employer engagement
  • Good IT skills and a proven ability to use and adapt quickly to new technology

You will be required:

  • To investigate, develop and secure employer links and partnerships that enable effective recruitment of suitable workplace learning positions, course delivery of programmes and work placement opportunities for students
  • To conduct due diligence with both students and employers, to ensure that placements provide the necessary opportunities and experience for students to complete this aspect of their Work Based Learning Module successfully
  • To provide leadership, ensure effective and efficient budget control and contribute to the achievement of College targets for student outcomes
  • The post holder will be working to shape initiatives that provide insight into career opportunities to help students better engage with employers
  • A key focus of the role will be to create an active employer database, of those businesses/companies who are committed to helping students prepare for future opportunities.
  • Maintaining regular contact with the student/employer to monitor the progress of the placement and resolve any issues that may arise (e.g. Complaints etc.) and to capture best practice and lessons learned.
  • To work with local employers in identifying and addressing skills needs and employment possibilities for the students (temporary, part time and full time)
  • To deliver Work-Based Learning Workshops and Seminars where appropriate
  • To deliver Work-Based Learning Workshops and Seminars where appropriate
  • To maintain effective relationships with external organisations such as validating bodies, the Local Authority, Corporate Clients, National Development Agencies and other appropriate organisations that can support our progression targets
  • To follow risk management, Quality and Control Systems which fall within the post holder's area of responsibility.
  • Local travel will be required to fulfil the requirements of this role.
  • Maintain an up to date understanding of legislation, government directives and good practice of other providers.
  • Undertake any other duties that may be required to meet the demands of the service.
  • You will have an option to work remotely on occasions and the possibility of working staggered hours
