The International Accountant will play a key role in supporting the Company's growing international footprint by providing direct accounting and finance support to certain subsidiaries in western European countries, partnering with other finance functions in managing their complex inter company arrangements, and working as part of the Global Accounting team in contributing to timely and accurate consolidated results.
This is a unique and global facing role whereby the successful candidate will be supporting the day to day accounting and finance needs of certain commercial subsidiaries and thereby contributing to their growth, as well as ensuring compliance with key elements of the corporate accounting tax functions.
This role will be responsible for:
Managing the global inter company month end close process, in partnership with other members of the global accounting team in multiple locations.
Liaise with various local accountants across the globe to ensure the month-end inter company communication process is adhered to.
Partner with treasury operations in properly tracking inter company cash activity to ensure proper accounting treatment.
Maintain global reconciliation to ensure inter company activity reconciles and all activity is accurate and complete, including any differences in currencies.
Partner with the Corporate Tax function in assessing the most efficient treatment of new inter company arrangements in the context of relevant tax regulations and business circumstance, while also ensuring these arrangements are operationalized in the accounting records.
Provide direct Finance and Accounting support for certain subsidiaries in Western European countries.
Provide oversight and support to local finance and accounting resources, as relevant, on day to day issues.
Assist in the preparation and / or review the monthly financial reports for further submission to the worldwide accounting team.
Ensuring timely and accurate financial results.
Perform fluctuation analyses on monthly results and provide meaningful insight to local management and corporate FP&A teams.
Other ad-hoc projects as directed.
The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with a firm understanding of multi-level consolidations in a multi-national setting.
Experience in inter company transactions, their tracking, eliminations and a thorough understanding of accounting for foreign currency is also required.
Alongside these core technical skills you should also be able to demonstrate the ability to be highly organised and be capable of to winning confidence to deal with a wide range of international internal partners.
