The Head of Regeneration is a significant appointment for the organisation and critical to the success of their regeneration agenda, being responsible for regeneration and facilities management - effective management and regeneration of Karbon's asset base of almost 30,000 homes from the Borders down to as far as York and Harrogate.
Despite being a large and diverse organisation, Karbon prides itself on having a local approach; providing homes and services which form the foundations to support people and places to fulfil their potential.
With a total turnover of £127m on a fixed asset base of £868m and as a social enterprise who re-invest their surplus into improving properties and communities, building new homes and delivering services which provide sustainable outcomes for customers and communities.
Karbon employs 900 people, looking after 60,000 customers in 30,000 homes and have an ambitious house building programme to deliver at least 500 new homes a year.
We are interested in speaking to candidates from both the private and social housing sectors who have experience in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver regeneration projects to support our placemaking agenda, including option appraisals and existing asset / statutory disposals.
Candidate Requirements
*Strong track record of demonstratable achievement at managerial level in an organisation of comparable size to Karbon Homes
*Experience leading the strategic development & delivery of either/both Asset Management, Development or Regeneration
*Knowledge of strategic asset management, acquisitions & disposals
*Experience of providing specialist technical advice in relation to all aspects of property surveying including valuation, landlord & tenant, conveyancing and leasehold advice
*Experience of research, analysis and report writing to present proposals and business cases
*Demonstrable successful track record of working collaboratively and in partnership with stakeholders developing/sustaining effective partnerships and delivering excellence
Package & Benefits
*£52,000-56,000 per annum
*£1,924 per annum car allowance
*26 days pa (rising to 31 after three years' service) plus bank holidays and birthday leave
*Pension scheme: Social Housing CARE (career average 1/60th).
*Location: Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, however there is flexibility on location and home working for some of the week.
