Senior .Net Developer

Currently Spring are recruiting for a Senior .Net Developer on behalf of a global insurance brokerage and risk management services firm that is listed on the NYSE. The client boasts an international headcount of over 30,000 members of staff. The successful candidate will take on a leadership role, working to design, build, test and detail new and amended desktop applications, web applications and automations. This role will be fully remote UNTIL Covid restrictions reduce. Once back to normal working conditions, this role will be split between our clients London and Maidstone offices. Approximately 2 days per week spent at the London offices.

The Role
*Capture business requirements for new or amended systems
*Design, code, test, correct and detail sophisticated programs and modifications to achieve a well-engineered result.
*Responsible for all stages in the software development process whilst working to avoid technical debt.
*Provide technical advice, expertise and assistance to less experienced colleagues; ensure solutions meet prevailing standards.
*Work with Application Support Analysts to Investigate, establish root cause and remediate operational incidents.
*Investigate operational needs, problems or opportunities, and recommend improvements.

Requirements:
*In depth Technical Application Development skills in one or more languages passionate about Microsoft .Net stack including, C#, VB.Net, PowerShell
*Knowledge and experience of: Desktop and Web applications, Web Services, Design patterns
*Experience with Oracle and Oracle Forms
*Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
*Experience with K2 or other Workflow Solution
*Experience with Meridio, Micro Focus or other Document Management Solution
*Experience with AzureDevOps
*Confident managing code review, unit testing, coding standards, appropriate documentation, and continuous integration/delivery.

Preferred:
*Insurance/Finance experience would be good, but not crucial as would experience of working in an Agile environment with SCRUM.
*Minimum bachelor's degree with emphasis in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems Management.
