Revenues Council Tax Officer
Your duties will include:
*Processing applications that need vetting, checking and to handle queries
*Carrying out prompt and accurate processing of information from all sources to update the Revenues Database
*Checking and issuing of all notices in line with set timetables
*Processing system generated reports
*Accurately maintaining the Revenues database
*Responding to enquiries from taxpayers by telephone, letter, email or in person in the most appropriate manner and within the councils customer care standards
*Assisting to provide the effective and highly valued reception service for Revenues
*Attending court and pre-court surgery to deal with taxpayers' enquiries and where possible make payment arrangements
*Assisting with the prompt dispatch of bills, recovery notices and review letters in accordance with agreed timetables
You must have:
*Knowledge/expertise of Business Rates or Council Tax
*Experience or be an expert on Northgate systems (or IWorld)
*Good numerical skills
*The ability to draft and compose written responses to correspondence
