Housing Development Governance Officer

Job Purpose and Role
To co-ordinate Governance activity of WV Living
To support the Chief Operating Officer and the Programme and Governance Manager in delivering the Governance of WV Living
To support the delivery of WV Living's Governance through co-ordinating meetings in particular Board meetings, including the collation of papers, the preparation of meeting papers
To co-ordinate of events as directed by the Programme and Governance Manager
To support the internal Governance framework through administrative support for information governance and compliance monitoring
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1.Provide administrative support to WV Living Board meetings including co-ordinating Board meetings, collating papers, taking minutes, monitoring and advising on action monitors within relevant timescales.
2.Ensure all WV Living policies are up to date and where they need to be reviewed incorporate them into the Governance timetable.
3.Monitor and bring to COO's attention any regulation, legislation and/or best practice that may be relevant to the operation of WV Living.
4.Establish in consultation with the Chief Operating Officer and the Chair the annual Governance timetable.
5.Working with the Programme and Governance Manager, the Chief Operating Officer, WV Living, Board members, the Chair and members of the team, manage the forward programme of Board agendas, co-ordinating them with other agenda's such as Cabinet and WV Living Shareholder Board
6.Deal with Board members enquiries directing them to relevant officers.
7.Co-ordinate regular communications to support Board knowledge and understanding.
8.Facilitate in house and external training as directed by the Programme and Governance Manager.
9.Contribute to the engagement and support of Board members through the provision of timely information on WV Living operations, events and other matters as directed by the Programme and Governance Manager and Chief Operating Officer.
10.Provide administrative support to WV Living and facilitate internal and external training for Board members and staff.
11.Support the Programme and Governance Manager by giving administrative support where required.
12.Ensure comprehensive records are maintained in an effective manner.
13.Give general support to the WV Living and Housing Development teams, including arranging large meetings, team meetings, taking minutes if requested, ordering equipment, dealing with visitors and other duties as required by the Housing Programme and Governance Manager.
14.Act in accordance with the Council's Constitution and other Codes of Conduct.
15.Participate in staff development, appraisal and training as appropriate, including continuous professional development.
16.Comply with the Council's agreed policies and procedures including but not limited to Health and Safety, and Equal Opportunities Policies, the General Data Protection Regulations, Freedom of Information Act, Financial Management Regulations and other relevant Council and Government Regulations, Directives and Citywide priorities.
17.Undertake any other tasks, duties and responsibilities as directed and appropriate to the grade and role of the post subject to any reasonable adjustments under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 as incorporated into the Equality Act 2010.
18.Participate in the wider development of the service and contribute to service improvement as required.
