Ways of working - Engagement and change adviser
Facilitating effective working relationships, connection and voice to better engage the workforce across Environment and Sustainable Transport Directorate, recognising the specific challenges of an operational public facing service.
Aligning to Council Changing Together programme but adjusting/fit for context
· To improve cultural dynamics through heightened understanding by all and effective relationship building
· The development and delivery of inclusion and wellbeing initiatives to enhance the employee experience and improve cohesion
· The development of programmes and frameworks which encourage voice across all aspects of the workforce
· To lead or facilitate groups of people in varying fora to diagnose and design issues and interventions
· To encourage and embed systemic and behavioural collaboration across the service outside of function and hierarchy
· To coach and develop managers on people engagement, facilitating emotional intelligence in managers
· To establish positive partnership arrangements with the TUs to jointly improve the employee experience
· Develop effective ways of working context driven but challenging status quo for smarter inclusive working
· Support all in the management and implementation of change, ensuring all people aspects are considered
· Establish effective communication approach, regularly testing and iterating to ensure continuous improvement and embedding.
· To understand the context, organisational values and future direction and execute innovative ideas to align behaviours and cultures of teams
Person specification
· Demonstrate experience of change where employee experience is key and sustained
· Understanding of organisation and culture change including behavioural dynamics
· Devised and lead organisational development programmes or initiatives with tangible results
· Facilitated focus groups
· Previous exposure to internal communications and/or engagement initiatives
· Highly developed interpersonal skills
Essential
· Working with TUs to enhance understanding and outcomes for all
