Role: Senior Category Manager- Commercial & Projects
Salary: (£52,643 to £69,000 High cost area supplements (HCAS) available + 10% of salary bonus
Location: West London
*Our leading client requires a commercially astute procurement professional to sit within the clinical procurement team and take lead responsibility for a delegated category or categories having a value of circa ten to twenty million pounds of annual expenditure and be an active ambassador for the client & 3rd parties, fostering a highly professional and responsive client service approach and act as the main point of contact for key stakeholders.
*The Senior Category Manager (Commercial & Projects) will develop procurement strategy and implement strategic sourcing and strong stakeholder management to achieve value for money and strengthen existing relationships with key suppliers, developing the strategy for allocated strategies and setting the foundations for success.
*Following this initial period, the role will take on a portfolio of other procurement projects which is likely to include commissioning of new build facilities, renovation & fit out. This will require the postholder to use their procurement skills, knowledge and commercial acumen, alongside strong client and stakeholder relationship management to successfully deliver against project outcomes.
*Approved medium and long term category strategy plans in place to meet agreed clinical and operational strategy

*All Contracts to be 100% compliant with performance monitoring in place
*Develop product standardisation strategies in conjunction with clinical stakeholders Projects develired in line with the agreed KPIs and timeframes annual savings achieved
*Lead procurement strategy and operational planning
*Lead the development of the team's annual work plan
*Responsible for delivering agreed procurement targets in relation to savings and category strategies
*Take responsibility for the purchase of goods and/or services, deliver portfolio of high value contracts in complex commodity areas and manage risk.
*Manage the production of project deliverables,
*Make assessments and advise peers and senior managers on "best value" for money. For example, National framework/local tender.
*Identify new areas for contracting and work with stakeholders to complete clinical trials and R&D activities.
*Undertake procurement activities in accordance with EU legislation/commercial/contract law and SFIs.
*Act as the client lead
*Lead the procurement process by delivering a portfolio of complex and/or high value sourcing activities
*Forge relationships and listen to the needs of clients and engage in productive discussions about options.
*Influence their procurement decisions offering reliable expert advice on commercial and contractual issues from initial scoping through to contract award and contract management.
