**Exciting opportunity for a candidate with extensive experience in Digital Communications Officer in a Local Government based sector!! A successful and Local Government is looking for an experienced Digital Communications Officer*

JOB ROLE: Digital Communications Officer (website)

JOB TYPE: Permanent

COMPANY: Local Government

HOURS: 9am - 5.30pm

SALARY: £33,000 - £38,000

LOCATION: West End, London

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT EXCLUSIVE TO:

  • Will be confident in building positive working relationships, supporting the needs of internal and external contacts through technical and content challenges
  • Support colleagues in website BAU and refining outstanding digital experiences
  • Being highly-skilled at presenting complex information clearly and bringing compelling actions to life through vibrant multimedia is a must-have
  • BAU operational and technical support, managing digital delivery with a hosting supplier, using a ticketing system
  • Working with a shared services supplier to manage DNS, create new domains and apply SSL certificates
  • Make creative briefs a digital reality on the website
  • Supporting an exciting, upcoming website launch, helping ensure a smooth transition at the point of switchover
  • Training and advising colleagues on how to use the CMS, and best practice for content production

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • You should have at least three years' experience managing, optimizing, creating and editing website content, preferably within local government or a campaigning organisation
  • Experience of using CMS, particularly Drupal, is essential
  • You will have worked in a multi-disciplinary digital team with a focus on excellent customer experience
  • Previous experience in providing CMS training and/or training on style guides and writing for web best practice
  • Demonstrable, significant experience creating content and online experiences according to best practice
  • Strong communication skills
  • Confidence & self-motivation
  • Ability to use social/networking platforms for research e.g. LinkedIn
  • Strong administration and organisation skills and good time management
