Badenoch & Clark are working with a leading law firm based in Kent; providing legal advice to both private and corporate clients. Covering a range of specialities, our client is looking for a Legal Cashier to join a team of 4 and support with Ad-hoc Administration duties.
Responsibilities will include:
* Daily banking
* Purchase ledger inputting and payments
* Production and posting of office and client cheques
* Transfer of funds between accounts to maximise interest receivable by the firm
* Posting transfers between matters and client/office transfers
* Posting bills
* Posting and payment of expenses
* Input and authorising sterling and foreign payments
* Control and reconciliation of petty cash
* Dealing with telephone and email enquiries from all levels of staff
We're looking for:
Working with people: You will need to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and maintain professional relationships.
Communication skills: You will need to be able to express yourself both in person and in writing.
Eye for detail: As you will be working with money, you will need to demonstrate a high level of accuracy.
Problem solving: You will need to have sound judgement and demonstrate a logical decision-making process when dealing with problems.
Organisation: You should be an organised individual with the ability to manage your own workload.
IT skills: Most of your tasks will be carried out electronically, so you will need a good level of computer literacy, especially with spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel.
What will you need?
Basic knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules; basic understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
Good knowledge of Excel; competent with MS Word and Outlook
No professional qualifications necessary
