Job Purpose / Overview:

We are currently recruiting for a Team Leader and Animal Care Specialist role for our client based at the world's leading pet nutrition centre in Waltham on the Wolds, Leicestershire.

Act as a Team Leader for a team of up to 40 Adecco team members and also work as a member of the team in order to help deliver life skills training to our pets. Act as a principal liaison between the WALTHAM Unit Operations Team, Adecco, and Adecco Unit Specialists.

Role is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week with a flexible approach to working hours required. The initial assignment is for 6 months, with the view to be extended for a suitable candidate.

Competency Interviews and Assessments will be held on Wednesday 27th March.

Medicals for successful applicants will be held on 11thApril. Applicants must be available for the interview date and the medical date.

Key Responsibilities:

    Support development and manage performance of up to 40 Adecco Operations Team membersGather feedback and share with Adecco Unit Specialists and Unit Operations ManagersEnsure that all members of the Adecco operations team are working safely byensuring adherence to SOPs and Risk AssessmentsManage new starter inductions and training plansEnsure each Adecco Unit Specialist has an accurate and up to date training recordMaintain personal training in basic Unit Specialist Tasks to be able to deliver the following tasks:
o Delivery of life skills and husbandry tasks

o Recreation and movement of dogs and cats around site

    Make suggestions for improvement or change via continuous improvement systemsAct as Time and Attendance administrator for the Associate Unit Specialist team, ensuring holidays and credit hours are all correct on a weekly basisAdministration duties required from the Adecco Consultant team on site including filing, data entry, folding payslips and producing/completing paperwork as requiredManage communication with Adecco Unit Specialists in a timely and effective manner and act as a point of contact for queries from the teamCo-ordinate appropriate staffing cover forad-hocresearch project teamsApprove and verify hours of work for Adecco Unit Specialists and Pet Carers

Experience and qualifications required:

The successful candidate will have:

    A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including Maths and English (or equivalent)Practical experience of animal health, welfare or care and/or an animal-based qualificationSupervisory or leadership experience is desirableGood communication, planning, organisational skills and proven ability to work in a team
  • Good numeracy, attention to detail and computer literacy is essential for data handling
  • Successful applicants will need to undergo security checks, a medical and a drugs test
  • Own transport is essential due to location
