Challenges and events manager
Responsible for increasing the number of own run events. The role will play also play a substantial part in increasing supporter engagement, in close collaboration with colleagues. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and deliver the challenge events portfolio to achieve the agreed fundraising targets. Work closely with the Events team to deliver the overall events and challenges strategy to increase income across the portfolio of activity. Develop supporter journeys for challengers to ensure retention and recruitment of supporters and sponsors. Develop existing and new sports and challenge events in order to generate income through the retention and recruitment of supporters and sponsors. Prepare, implement and monitor budgets for challenge events including having responsibility for reaching financial targets as agreed and producing detailed reports and financial analysis. To work and negotiate with external partners and event companies to deliver events and build relationships with third party organisers. Work with other departments to manage integrated marketing plans to support promotion, recruitment and engagement of new and existing supporters in order to maximise net income and build supporter numbers across sports and challenges. This includes Working with colleagues within marketing and communications to create compelling fundraising materials for a variety of media Work as an effective member of the Events Team and Charity to support wider Event calendar and fundraising activities. This will involve securing sales, auction lots and sponsorship and event day delivery. Effective management of all event data to ensure positive supporter experience, effective and timely monitoring or progress, as well as effective evaluation of events and reporting, in line with procedures and ISO processes. Assist the Head of Events in the preparation of Annual Budget Submissions and on-going Management Information regarding performance of the department. Provide expertise and guidance on all matters relating to challenges- including Gift Aid - including optimisation of Gift Aid claims (in conjunction with the Finance Team). Generally increase levels of supporter engagement and stewardship and to contribute to any on-going stewardship programme implemented (including, but not limited to supporter newsletters, mailings and on-line material). Collaborative working to include the generation of leads for corporate, major donors, individual giving and other income streams.
