Role Purpose:

The Product Commercialisation Manager creates cross-functional alignment and integration with LR functional stakeholders to ensure timely product launches across LR's business streams, with the goal of accelerating time to market and generating incremental revenue growth.

The product commercialisation manager is accountable for ensuring new products are launched into LR and to our external customer segments at the earliest possible opportunity, with the minimum necessary support, and with agreed commercial objectives for the next phase of roll out.

This is a critical and central role managing the LR product development process, with responsibility for developing, tracking and coordinating go-to-market plans for new products and services, working closely with relevant stakeholders in the business streams.

Your duties will include

  • Proactive management of the development project funnel to move projects across process gates
  • Applying criteria for gate completion and progression
  • Ensuring customer focus at each stage adding to commercial certainty of business cases
  • Filling gaps and closing actions to accelerate POC, MVP and channel readiness stages
  • Maintaining a fit for purpose view of market readiness across 3-6month commercialisation horizons
  • Creating forward looking alignment and agree handshake with resource owners and project requirements at the next stage
  • Anticipating bottlenecks, explore contingencies and provide escalation management across the development portfolio
  • Tracking, reporting, communication of product development deliverables and outcomes such as:
  • Development pipeline and funnel dynamics (status, duration, owner…) using collaborative tools such as Trello
  • Gate changes and go to market readiness actions
  • Forward looking, customer facing roadmaps by sector and theme
  • Maintain a calendar of future launches and associated customer actions, communicating these to the operational stakeholders
  • Financial metrics - lead and lag indicators
  • Maturing organisational capability to improve NPD and launch outcomes
  • Owning the LR NPD process
  • Developing best practices to facilitate high quality product releases and share successes
  • Capturing learning for continuous improvement
  • Celebrating "fail fast" examples
  • Exploring over-age project
  • Bedding in NPD and roadmap views within broader planning framework and horizons
  • Group project/ capex allocation
  • Budget/ revenue dependencies
  • Product development execution plans against Group strategic objectives
  • Developing interfaces and linkages between the product development and launch process with the wider LR strategy, budgeting and operational planning processes
  • Creating interlock between 12month rolling resource requests and business outcomes as part of the budget plan
  • Consolidating roadmaps and project portfolios by theme and strategic objective
  • Pulling individual product roadmaps and service enhancement plans into development teams and innovation labs as part of a triaged idea prioritization process

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Highly driven self-starter, motivated, with excellent communication and organization skills

  • Commercial acumen and creating investment / business cases
  • Able to effectively operate as a matrix manager in coordinating people and resources from multiple areas of the LR
  • Troubleshooting and creative problem-solving skills
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills tailored to senior stakeholders
  • Ability to adapt well to new technologies
  • Ability to handle several tasks and juggle multiple priorities
  • Providing leadership across virtual and dynamic teams
  • Experience in product marketing, product management or development, of which some gained in a service based industry
  • Expert knowledge of the product development process - steeped in practical / fit for purpose execution experience
  • Demonstrated history of managing complex projects across different business functions
  • Demonstrable experience in creating and executing on marketing/ GTM launch plans
  • Preferred: experience in launching digital propositions, managing releases and migrations
  • BS/BA required or equivalent experience; business or project/ programme qualifications a plus
