Office Angels have an exciting opportunity for a Learning and Development Officer to join our client in East Lothian. This is a contract role for 12 months, working Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, with a salary of circa £30,000.

Object of Job

To act as the in-house co-ordinator in all relevant training issues and to provide general administration and analytical assistance within the Human Resources Department.

Main Tasks


  • To act as the in-house co-ordinator in all relevant training issues. This will include co-ordinating training needs, twice yearly production of the course calendar, maintaining an efficient and up-to-date training database and the production of statistics and analyses on training issues/courses.


  • To assist with the preparation and delivery of training on HR issues, interpersonal skills and other training as required.


  • To manage the Onboarding of new employees.


  • To attend careers events as and when required and to assist in the organisation of the Company's attendance.


  • To liaise with Schools, Colleges and Universities to promote Charles River for employment/apprentice/placement opportunities.


  • To manage the administration of Day Release students.


  • To assist in the management of HR Training Records.


  • To manage the site tour for all new hires.


  • To attend relevant in-house or external training sessions/conferences/seminars as required.
  • Other tasks as required to support the department and ad hoc projects.
  • To deal with non-routine departmental correspondence as required.


  • Is responsible for ensuring that a safe working environment is maintained by observing all safety procedures and working methods, by making proper use of protective clothing and equipment, and by reading, understanding and following all safety documents issued or notified.


  • To undertake such other tasks as might reasonably be requested from time to time by her supervisor and to ensure that her work is conducted in a co-operative and flexible manner.


  • To participate in overtime as is reasonably required to ensure the smooth running of the Department.
