12 Month Contract
Pay rate: £25-30ph
This particular Aerospace organisation produces a variety of actuation systems for the aerospace industry using a variety of high tech machinery, plant & equipment.
The Maintenance Engineer will be a member of a multi- discipline maintenance team & will be responsible for maintaining uptime on all key plant & site services.
*High level of understanding of CNC machinery repair and maintenance with a range of controls including Fanuc,Okuma and Mitsubishi.
*High level of understanding of hydraulic test system repair and maintenance with a range of controls, including Allen Bradley, and National instruments including a working knowledge of Load cells, torque transducers, pressure transducers and other feedback devices.
*Understand & repair conventional plant & machinery
*Understand & repair various processes including Heat treatment & Plating facilities
*Be able to understand Pneumatic, Hydraulic & Mechanical Drawings & systems
*Carry out Electrical and Mechanical type diagnosis
*Carry out Mechanical repairs
*Undertake Electrical and Mechanical Modifications
*Work with Minimum supervision on shift patterns (following site familiarisation period)
*Capable of performing a Multi skilled role & able to work on any Works Engineer type disciplines, training will be given if required
*Apply the most safe, efficient and effective methods available to keep key machinery available for production
*Liaise with external service and parts providers
*Assist in Root Cause Analysis of Breakdowns & identify improvement opportunities
*Working Knowledge of a variety of CNC machines
*Working Knowledge of Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical, Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems
*Working Knowledge of a variety of industrial systems
*Working Knowledge of relevant related EH&S legislation
*Experience in a Maintenance and/or Service Engineer role
*Proven track record in identifying & problem solving
*Competent in the use of a wide variety of measuring equipment.
*Understanding of Lean
*Able to work as part of a team
*Ability to communicate effectively within working environment
*Minimum of HNC / City & Guilds in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical engineering.
*Time served Apprentice qualified to NVQ Level 3
*Working at height
*Flexible approach with willingness to work as part of a team
Keen to participate in a continuous improvement and TQ focused environment
*Calm under pressure and responsive to change
*Good communication skills
*Able to work using own initiative
*Positive approach to a customer based role
*Willingness to train & apply a variety of new skills
*Willingness to work additional hrs to support business requirements and department plans/schedules
