Previous experience of supporting teenage clients would be useful, but not essential.
The successful candidate will provide support throughout the housing process in obtaining and settling into suitable independent tenancies or appropriate designated supported schemes where necessary. Crucially, you will need to possess experience of supporting vulnerable clients to maintain their current employment and their accommodation, as well as form strong working partnerships with internal and external clients too.
It is a full-time role (9am- 5pm Monday- Friday), and a valid DBS/CRB obtained within the past 12 months is essential. Candidates do need to be able to drive for this post, so access to their own vehicle and a willingness to visit clients in the local borough is required, as they will be undertaking homeless prevention visits and where necessary, tenancy sustainment visits.
Good problem solving skills, a willingness to embrace challenges, good understanding of welfare reforms and its impact, as well as the ability to manage challenging situations will be important aspects of this role.
