Our client is currently looking to recruit an SQL Administrator into their infrastructure team on an initial two month contract, but with very likely chances of an extension as long as the initial contract progresses well. The contract is to start as soon as possible.
The contract role has come about as at present they don't have an allocated SQL Administrator within their team, so other 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineers are supporting aspects of their SQL Server Administration. They are looking to bring in a specialist to take the lead on all SQL administration, which will include server maintenance, fixing any outstanding issues, putting in maintenance plans for every server and managing all back ups. This is with a view to gaining a more specialised reviewing and progression of their SQL Server Administration, whilst allowing other team members to focus on other server support tasks and improve the team's overall delivery.
Our client possesses a number of different SQL Server versions, from 2000 through to 2017, in a Microsoft cluster set up (i.e. not visualised), whilst they also use Redgate to back up. They also wish to investigate the option of scripting certain tasks and processes that they are doing laboriously at present.
In order to be considered, candidates will ideally have the below skills and experience:
* SQL Server administration skills at 3rd line level, across multiple versions of SQL Server.
* A knowledge of the use of back up software, ideally Redgate.
* A knowledge of Active - Active set ups within multiple instances of clusters on a Microsoft cluster.
* Powershell scripting skills / experience (desirable).
This is an excellent opportunity for a SQL Administrator to join a great team and make a big impact. The Powershell element isn't essential but is very desirable for the role.
We are keen to progress shortlisting for this position ASAP, so please don't miss out and APPLY NOW.
