Roevin are currently working in partnership with our client to recruit a Voyage Manager to be based in Glasgow. The ideal candidate will have shore and 2nd officer level offshore experience as a minimum.

Major Responsibilities

Operations - Commercial

*Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, agents and be able to attend Owners/Charterers' or other Forums as required by Fleet Director or Vice President Gas Fleet.
*Communicate on a regular basis with all interested parties including vessel, chartering offices, brokers and customers
*Liaise with Charterers, review their instructions and issue voyage specific instructions to vessels as required.
*Effectively monitor and implement key clauses of relevant charter parties to ensure consistent commercial operations.
*Ensure proper procedures are followed with regards to handling of Bills of Lading, Letters of Protest and Letters of Indemnity, liaising with all parties where necessary.
*For all vessels, Time Chartered and Bareboat prepare, review and approve all monthly hire statements.

Voyage Management

*Appoint and liaise with port agents to ensure smooth operational turnaround and work with the Vessel Managers and Team Libra Voyage Accountant to ensure Port Costs are properly invoiced and controlled.
*Co-operate fully with Charterers and vessels with regard to all matters pertaining to Voyage Planning for company owned vessels, and be responsible for monitoring voyage planning and performance.
*Maintain adequate in-depth voyage records by all accepted documentation means including active voyage files, software tools and emails as per various company guidelines.

Performance Monitoring

*Review vessels performance against charter party requirements and seek remedial actions where necessary with respective Vessel Managers.
*Ensure vessels are monitored for idle time and slow steaming and requests to Charterers for effective remedial measures and or preventative measures are requested in good time.

*Ability to prioritise work in periods of peak work load
*Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills
*Ability to use range of IT applications
*Knowledge of vessel type operated with the ship team preferred
