We are currently recruiting for an IT administrator for our client based in NG1!

General Job Description
*Working within a growing software/engineering consultancy to provide IT support to a team of programmers and engineers
*Will manage, upgrade and maintain an expanding active directory domain of about 100 users with around 20 servers/VMs
*Will expand the company's IT infrastructure into the next 5 years of growth and development
*Key sites are Nottingham (UK) and Beijing (China) with smaller secondary sites
Will manage an automated software build array of around 30 PCs
Will perform a continual round of upgrades on servers approx every 3 years
*Looking after UK and overseas IT infrastructure according to IT best practices
*Will involve some remote site management
*Will manage all onsite telephony (Currently BT Versatility system)
*Either support or manage software licence production using RLM and HASP licensing systems and will provide support to 1 or more member of staff
*Provide external customer technical support re: IT related product issues
*Able to handle any other work as required
*Must be flexible and willing to learn new skills
*Will be expected to progress to the role of IT Manager
*Will eventually be working alone and with no support staff
*Will need to be able to prioritise and work under pressure

Essential Technical Requirements
*An absolute minimum of 12 month's experience in IT or network support with 5 or more years network management experience preferred
*Microsoft Active Directory experience
*Office 365 administration and configuration
*Network management
oLocal DNS, DHCP
oNetworking (cabling)
oPublic DNS management
oVPN configuration and support
*Switches/routers network hardware configuration
*NAS Storage configuration and management
*PC repairs, rebuilds and upgrades
*Laptop repair, configuration and servicing
*Setting up system monitoring, failure prediction and proactive repairs
*RAID array configuration
*Backup, recovery and daily backup quality monitoring
*Windows desktop (XP to Windows 2010)
*Linux server
*IT Security
*IT Strategy planning
*Liaising with contractors (some project management)
*Scripting experience: e.g. PowerShell

*Computing field graduate with industry experience
*MCSE or similar qualification in Active Directory
*Telephony experience (BT versatility PABX preferred)
*Software licence management: Solidworks, ANSYS etc.
*Familiarity with the RLM and HASP licensing systems
*Symantec Backup Exec, LTFS tape backup
*Purchase orders and asset record keeping
*TeamCity or Mercurial experience
*Supporting tele-conferencing systems e.g. Webex
*Supporting C# developers or working in a development environment
*Some programming experience i.e. C++/C# would be helpful
*ITIL or similar
Version Control System (VCS) installation and management
*Management of Microsoft software licences (e.g. VLK, MS Partner)
