Are you an experienced Policy Officer, with experience working within the Public / Third Sector, looking for your next opportunity?

Badenoch & Clark Housing & Third Sector recruitment team have been engaged to find a driven and committed individual to join a reputable National Homelessness Charity within a role based in Swansea.

This role will consist of supporting the Policy and Communication Manager to deliver an external affairs strategy across Wales. You will be tasked with working with individual homeless services and management to help further the Charities policy positions for Wales as well as collaborate with the National team to build overall support for the Charities mission to end homelessness.

Key duties for the role will include:

*Create policy and public affairs assets, such as policy reports, articles/blogs, consultation responses, briefings, presentations and contribute to the development of campaign and communications work
*Work closely with the Research and Evaluation team to support the planning, design and effective use of research and service evaluations to influence national policy agendas
*Represent the Charity at relevant policy forums, speaking events and build relations with sector colleagues and policy officials at a local and national level.
*Be a leading source of policy insight and work with colleagues on GB-wide policy projects that have resonance to Welsh audiences
*Development of a network of political 'champions' across Wales in the Assembly and other levels of government that supports the Charities campaigns and drives forward an agenda to end homelessness in Wales

The successful candidate for this opportunity will be able to demonstrate some of the following skills and experience:

*In-depth understanding of homelessness and related policy issues or can demonstrate an ability to develop the required understanding.
*Demonstrable experience of policy writing, including reports, briefings, consultation responses etc.
*Ability to create innovative policy solutions based on new research findings, and able to scope new areas of research that will aid policy development for Wales


This role is a permanent vacancy based in Swansea with the flexibility of working from home a couple of days a week if required.
