We are currently recruiting for casual Pet Carer roles for our client based at the world's leading pet nutrition centre in Waltham on the Wolds, Leicestershire.
Our pet carer roles provide animal husbandry support for dogs and/or cats and provide a great starting point for candidates keen to pursue a career in animal care. These roles provide experience and development in animal care, training, behaviour and pet nutrition.

Applicants must be flexible as shifts may vary to provide cover for absence and additional resourcing, there may be no shifts one week but five or six shifts the following week. All shifts are 0800-1600. Roles are on a rota pattern so will involve weekend and bank holiday working and includes standby shifts. For standby shifts you would be required to be on call for a period of a few hours at the beginning of a shift in order to cover absences and provide additional resources if required.
These roles will be on a temporary contract under assignment for three months initially; however there may be opportunities to move onto a new assignment such as part or full time or continue as casual after this date.

Training for successful applicants will begin on Monday 5th February 2018 and is for 3 weeks 08:00-16:00 Monday to Friday before moving onto the casual rota.

*Provide husbandry support for animals
*Provide routine exercise and socialisation sessions for animals
*Move animals as requested during the day
*Removing animal waste, cleaning animal pens and paddocks
*To keep the unit and animal areas clean and tidy
*To ensure animal welfare standards are maintained
*Basic literacy skills and the ability to follow instructions and guidelines
*Previous experience of working with animals is advantageous
*Passion for working with animals
*The ability to work in a team
*Own car is essential due to location
*Successful applicants will need to undergo security checks and undertake a medical that includes a drug test
