MAIN DUTIES

*Providing the highest level of technical expertise within electrical discipline, ensuring that the technical philosophy and strategies are understood and adhered to throughout the business unit.
*Keeping up to date with developments in standards and legislation affecting electrical discipline and supporting change as required.
*Providing engineering technical input into external trade associations, technical committees and statutory bodies
*Acting as the senior point of referral for technical issues outside the authority of Engineer Surveyor personnel or where guidance or support is required.
*Developing and taking ownership for the annual plan of supervision activities for the electrical discipline, including but not limited to:
oPlanning the schedule of audits for a calendar year in line with an overall plan
oImplementing audits and reporting against achievement of each month end
oCollating audit results and identify non conformities/opportunities for improvement via quarterly trend analysis

*Developing and maintaining technical inspection procedures and guidance for engineer surveyors
*Developing and providing innovative solutions to in-service inspection processes.
*Maintaining registration with NICEIC for electrical discipline and maintain COMPEX certification for designated surveyors.
*Coaching and developing team members and field staff in technical issues, ensuring technical knowledge is maintained and developed.
*Analysing Management Information, including the identification of Plant Inspection defect trends and use information to support decisions and planning inputs.

REQUIREMENTS

*Minimum HND in Electrical Engineering
*Significant Engineering Experience in the Electrical discipline
*Have in depth technical knowledge within the Electrical discipline.
*Detailed knowledge of in-service inspection procedures and processes in an ISO 17020 environment.
*Good knowledge of market, industry trends, developments and changes in legislation
*In depth knowledge of electrical regulations within industrial, commercial, quarry and explosive atmosphere installations.
*Good communication skills, including ability to write detailed technical reports
