IT Project Manager- Retail- London
A leading UK retailer is seeking a Project Manager to join their team in Central London. The company are undergoing a major transformation programme and you will play an intricate role in the management of end-to-end delivery of the Programme portfolio, including scoping, planning, executing, and monitoring of the time, cost and quality aspects of projects within the portfolio.
In this role, you will be responsible for overall delivery, budget and schedule programmes and project portfolios. You as IT Project manager will be expected to develop and maintain strong governance and processes, and build and lead high performing teams. You are accountable for project communication, including status reporting, risk management and escalation of issues that cannot be resolved by the team.
*Building credible, trusted advisor relationships with key client stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
*Planning leading and delivering large scale programmes and project portfolios and proactively monitoring and reporting their progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective actions
*Managing Programme and project inter-dependencies, ensuring efficient and effective use of time and resources
*Implementing programme governance, running the design authority and providing quality assurance.
*Planning and managing the programme budget and third party contributions and costs, and monitoring the expenditures and costs against delivered and realised benefits
*Ensuring that the delivery of new products or services from the projects is high quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the programme plan and governance structure
*Contributing to the preparation and review of key project management documentation such as PIDs, business requirements documentation, test plans, etc.
*Solid project management experience; or
*PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent;
*Knowledge of formal project management methodologies and programme planning and control techniques
*Successful delivery of large scale complex IT programmes
*Strong previous experience of Multi-channel programmes
*Strong previous experience of delivering complex projects in a creative and fast paced multichannel retail environment
*Remaining calm under pressure and thinking clearly to address difficult problems such as conflicting agendas, budget over run, poor initial estimating and benefits management
*Experience of working in a fast paced and creative retail environment
*Ability to identify and mitigate risks to ensure projects are delivered on time;
*Assimilates, evaluates, adapts and makes best use of new information;
*Excellent planning and organisation skills;
*Understanding of IT software or infrastructure, preferably in retail environments
*Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and understandable manner to senior stakeholders
*Personal effectiveness, confidence and resilience, with an ability to influence colleagues at peer level as well as more senior levels;
