Control Room Security Team Manager for Presitigous Library £26K

4on 4off 12hour shifts (Days/Nights on rotation)
£26,000 annual salary + 20% disturbance allowance is payable
I am currently recruiting for a customer-service focused Control Room Security Team Manager on behalf of my client, a large and prestigious library based in St Pancras, London. The main focus of the role will be to operate and monitor all systems within the control room in an efficient manner ensuring that all work is undertaken in compliance with the operating procedures, DPA legislation, ICO guidance and the SIA CCTV Code of practice whilst managing a team of security officers and providing leadership and guidance.
Key areas of responsibility:
*Support the Building Group & Control Room Manager and Security and Safety management team to provide a secure environment for staff, visitors, readers and service partners to perform their intended functions.
*Support the Security and Safety management team Building Group & Control Room Manager in protecting assets.
*Support the Security and Safety management team Building Group & Control Room Manager in implementing an effective manpower / operational security strategy and supporting policies and procedures, and the planning and management of associated resources.
*Support and assist the Security and Safety management team Building Group & Control Room Manager in recruiting, performance managing, motivating and deploying a high quality in-house security team.
*Effectively manage the function of the control room and all Control Room security and life safety systems in accordance with policy and procedure.
*To play a critical and vital role within the emergency response team during incidents.
*Maintain the standards of the control room for access/egress and visitor regulations.
Minimum requirements (essential) :
*Adequate knowledge of the law to ensure that evidence can be presented in court properly in accordance with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act and that an arrest without warrant can be made.
*Previous experience working in a busy control room utilising multiple alarm systems and RFID access control systems. (ESSENTIAL)
*A good idea of how CCTV systems work and how a big control room functions.
*Knowledge of emergency procedures and your role within those procedures in the event of an evacuation of the building for fire or other emergencies.
*Be healthy and physically fit.
*Have good computer skills and report writing skills as well as oral in the English language.
*Be able to use / monitor security systems including intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and fire panel.
Additional requirements (desirable):
*Significant experience within the Security industry.
*Current 1st Aid at Work Certificate.
